President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed Decree No. 2/2026 of January 2 on awarding state awards to 310 Ukrainian servicemen.
According to the document published on the website of the head of state, 155 defenders were awarded posthumously. The awards are given for personal courage shown in the defense of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as for selfless performance of military duty.
Among the awards received by the defenders are the Cross of Combat Merit, the orders of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, Danylo Halytskyi and “For Courage”. In addition, the soldiers were awarded medals “For Military Service to Ukraine” and “For Saved Life”. This decree became part of the systematic work to celebrate the heroism of the participants in the country’s defense in the full-scale war against the Russian Federation.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, awarded 45 volunteers with the Golden Heart award.
Zelensky presented awards to military engineers.
It will be recalled that Zelensky awarded 585 servicemen, 280 of them posthumously
Also, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded 697 servicemen of the National Guard, the National Police and the State Emergency Service. Among them, 127 received distinctions posthumously .
