The specialized anti-corruption prosecutor’s office filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court demanding that the assets worth more than 2.7 million hryvnias, which are used by the senior inspector of the customs clearance department of the “South Port” customs post of Odesa Customs, be recognized as unfounded and charged to state income.
This was reported by the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption.
The basis was the results of monitoring the official’s lifestyle, which was carried out by the NACP, and the evidence independently obtained by the prosecutor of the SAPS.
It was established that in 2023 the customs officer purchased a VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG car for over UAH 2.7 million. He registered the vehicle for his father, but continued to use it.
NAZK analyzed the income and expenses of the official and his family members and came to the conclusion that it is impossible to purchase the specified vehicle at the expense of legal income. The car was impounded.
Assets can be levied in favor of the state in accordance with Art. 290 of the Civil Procedure Code of Ukraine (submission of a claim for recognition of assets as unfounded and their collection into state income).
In Odesa, an FSB agent who orchestrated attacks on the city was sentenced to 15 years.
