Russian troops fought in Zaporizhzhia during the night, anxiety continues in the region – the authorities

During the night from January 1 to 2, the Russian military carried out at least nine airstrikes in Zaporizhzhia, as a result of which fires broke out in the city and residential buildings were damaged. According to preliminary data, there are no victims, reported the head of OVA Ivan Fedorov and the Zaporizhia City Council.

“Previously, the enemy struck Zaporizhzhia nine times. But the air alert continues throughout the entire territory of the region. Take care of yourself and your loved ones,” Fedorov wrote after the first night.

After 5:00, he informed that the threat of the use of guided aerial bombs (UABs) continues in the Zaporizhzhia region – with the exception of the regional center.

The Russian military regularly attacks Ukrainian regions with various types of weapons – attack UAVs, rockets, anti-aircraft missiles, and anti-aircraft missiles.

The leadership of Russia denies that the Russian army during a full-scale war inflicts targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of the cities and villages of Ukraine, killing the civilian population and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply facilities.

The Ukrainian authorities and international organizations qualify these strikes as war crimes of the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are purposeful in nature.
