Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met at Mar-a-Lago on Sunday, and after the meeting, both leaders said at a joint press conference that progress had been made on a 20-point peace proposal supported by Zelensky.
In a poll by The Economist/YouGov, 27% of respondents said they believed Russia currently had the upper hand in the war, 6% believed Ukraine had the upper hand, and 44% could not say who had the upper hand. 24% of respondents were not sure which side has an advantage.
The Economist/YouGov survey was conducted from December 26 to 29, and 1,550 respondents took part in it. The margin of error is 3.6 percentage points.
