Former world champion in super heavyweight (over 90.7 kg), American Deontay Wilder (44–4–1, 43 KOs) shared his expectations for the upcoming bout against WBC, WBA and IBF title holder Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs):

“You know my next opponent – Usyk challenged me to a fight. He said he wanted to meet me in the ring. I accepted this challenge. I “push the horses”, “I feel, I really feel”.

What is my plan? Be smart, be faster, use my agility, be tough, get in the ring and knock him out. I’m known for my power, it’s worth showing it. I have gone through a difficult path in my life, but I am back and ready to defeat Usyk,” said Wilder.

The American had 49 fights in the professional ring, in which he won 44 (43 early). Wilder knocked out compatriot Tyrell Herndon in June to snap a two-fight losing streak in 2023 and 2024.

Usyk last entered the ring in July, when he stopped the British Daniel Dubois. The Ukrainian became the absolute champion of the world, but in October he lost one title, refusing to defend the WBO belt.

Usyk confirmed that he will fight against a dangerous opponent with 43 knockouts
