Paul Pogba, whose professional career was in jeopardy due to a lengthy ban, has officially returned to global recognition by winning the Best Comeback of the Year award.
The award was presented to the French midfielder by ex-UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. For Pogba, the prize was confirmation that his efforts to return to big football after having his suspension reduced and signing a contract with Monaco in November 2025 have not been in vain.
In his speech, Paul remembered all those who were by his side during the most difficult times – his wife, children and close friends. However, the main media moment was his direct appeal to the legendary Portuguese. From the stage, Pogba addressed his former Manchester United team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo, who was also present in the hall and received the Middle East Player of the Year award.
“Cristiano, you’re here and you inspire us all as a footballer. You’re doing it for the next generation. Thank you so much, Cristiano,” Paul said, highlighting the Portuguese’s role as an example of professionalism.
Pogba’s return has become one of the most talked about topics at the end of 2025. After an 18-month break, he already managed to play the first matches for Monaco, proving that his talent has not disappeared anywhere.
