IAEA: Ukraine and Russia have ceased fire on the territory of the ZNPP

Repair work began on the power line near the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP after another local ceasefire between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, reached through the mediation of the IAEA.

Literally: “Critical repair work on a power line has begun near Ukraine’s ZNPP following another local ceasefire. An IAEA team is monitoring the repairs, which are expected to last several days, as part of ongoing efforts to prevent a nuclear accident during a military conflict.”

Details: IAEA Director General Grossi thanked both parties for agreeing to this new temporary “window of silence” in order to restore the transmission of electricity between the distribution substations of the ZANP and the Zaporizhzhya Thermal Power Plant.
