Mayor of Kyiv and former boxing world champion Vitaliy Klitschko made a decision to deprive the diver of her scholarship Sofia Lyskunwhich changed sports citizenship to Russian.
The athlete was excluded from the list of recipients of the Kyiv Mayor’s scholarship for outstanding athletes of the capital, as well as deprived of the presidential scholarship.
Lyskun, a native of Luhansk, has 12 medals at the level of the world and European championships as part of the Ukrainian national team. She also represented Ukraine twice at the Olympic Games.
The last time she competed under the Ukrainian flag was in July 2025.
