The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to allocate an additional 3.1 billion UAH for this year’s purchases of weapons and military equipment for defense needs. This is reported by the government portal.
Funds will be redistributed from the expenses of the general fund of the state budget in favor of the Ministry of Defense.
“In the conditions of a full-scale war, Ukraine uses all possible financial instruments to provide the Defense Forces with everything necessary exactly when it is needed,” said First Deputy Minister of Finance Roman Yermolychev.
He added that the decision allows to quickly find internal reserves and direct them to where they have the greatest impact on the security of the country, ensuring the financing of defense contracts without increasing the overall budget costs.
The redistribution of funds is carried out within the total volume of state budget expenditures in 2025, without attracting additional resources and without affecting protected expenditure items. The funds were formed at the expense of saving the expenses of certain main managers of the state budget based on the results of the implementation of programs in January-December 2025.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine adopted the concept of digital fuel accounting and monitoring, which includes the installation of special sensors on tanks for automatic fuel level control.
