The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi told what funds Ukraine and the United States of America plan to create for the post-war reconstruction of the state.
The Head of State stated this while answering journalists’ questions.
“In my opinion, it is important that we have a common vision that several foundations will be created with America. There will be a fund for the reconstruction of Ukraine, there will be a sovereign investment platform of Ukraine, there will be a fund for the development of Ukraine, a fund for the growth and opportunities of Ukraine. And we plan to have an American-Ukrainian reconstruction investment fund. And the groups are also discussing the issue of the human capital fund and support for return,” Zelenskyi said.
The President added that post-war recovery will primarily be concerned with the “Road Map” of prosperity, which will determine the format of post-war cooperation between Ukraine and the United States until 2040.
“There, the main aspects and directions are our national goals, there are life expectancy, the return of refugees, GDP per capita, new jobs,” the Head of State emphasized.
Zelenskyi also reminded that Ukraine expects to attract 700 to 800 billion dollars for reconstruction.
“There is a strategy for a larger amount, but I don’t want to talk about it in detail yet,” the President noted.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyi also stated that the recent meetings of Ukrainian and American negotiators helped the US to understand more clearly what compromises Kyiv is not ready to make in the peace agreement. According to him, the discussions were important for assessing security guarantees and risks of agreements with Russia. He said this in a conversation with journalists.
