In Ukraine, the concept of holding elections in a hybrid format combining online and offline voting is being discussed.
This was discussed in David Arahamia’s comment on meetings of the working group, which is working on the draft law on elections during martial law.
The head of the “Servant of the People” faction, David Arahamiya, noted that the working group responsible for the preparation of the draft law on elections under martial law should study the expediency of such an approach.
At the moment, there is no final decision, and special attention is paid to the opportunities of the participants in the voting process.
Arahamiya also noted that it is necessary to increase voter turnout as much as possible, since low turnout can be used by the enemy for propaganda purposes. Particular attention was paid to the voting of internally displaced persons, who may not register to avoid attention.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyi already stated about the importance of holding elections “as soon as possible” after the signing of the agreement, which emphasizes the relevance of the discussed proposals.
The Verkhovna Rada is forming a working group for the operational study of the possibilities of conducting presidential elections of Ukraine during wartime.
The upcoming elections in Ukraine may become the most expensive in the entire history of independence.
