Svyridenko’s direct speech: “Teachers’ salaries have been increased by 30% since January 2026. To implement the decision, the budget has already provided funding for the first 8 months of 2026.

UAH 91.8 billion of education subvention was distributed among local budgets, an additional UAH 21.4 billion was redirected to correctly ensure the increase without increasing the general expenses of the state budget.
Details: According to her, the next stage of salary increase by another 20% is expected from September 2026.
Svyridenko also informed that monthly supplementary payments for teachers have been financed.
Svyridenko’s direct speech: “More than 409,000 teachers will receive monthly supplements for working in unfavorable working conditions in the period from January to August 2026, of which 25,500 will be in front-line communities. UAH 10.37 billion has been earmarked for this within the budget of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.”
Details: In parallel, the updating of educational programs and the introduction of modern approaches within the framework of the reform of the New Ukrainian School continues. As Svyridenko noted, financial decisions should have a direct impact on improving the quality of education.
The government has also updated the procedure for granting subventions for arranging shelters in general secondary education institutions. The state will directly finance objects with a readiness level of 60% instead of the previous 40%, without increasing the cost of projects from the state budget.
The distribution of funds for new facilities will be carried out according to the level of security risks in the education system: 40% – for areas with a very high level of risk, 35% – for high, 25% – for moderate and satisfactory. The share of funding for the last category of territories has been increased from 10% to 25%.
