The central defender of Sevilla Markao was disqualified for six matches for insulting the referee in the game against Real (0:2). This is reported by Marca.

The disciplinary committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) handed down the punishment for two yellow cards that led to the player being sent off, as well as for insulting referee Alejandro Muniz. The punishment includes one match for sending off, four matches for offensive language and disrespectful behavior and one for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Sevilla appealed the committee’s decision, submitting video evidence. The club claims that the expression used against the referee is a common exclamation in the Portuguese language and not a direct insult. However, the committee did not find an obvious factual error in the referee’s record.
