Magnetic storms – what is important to know
Magnetic storms are disturbances in the Earth’s magnetic field caused by streams of charged particles ejected by the Sun during flares and coronal mass ejections. After reaching the planet, the solar wind interacts with the magnetosphere and causes it to oscillate.
