The event, recorded on video by the Russian propaganda channel WarGonzo, involved the prisoners receiving uniforms with the inscription “APU” and playing against militants of the occupation brigade “Pyatnashka”.
The historical parallels drawn by the occupiers themselves look cynical: during the Second World War, after playing games with the Germans, Kyiv football players were also arrested, tortured and sent to concentration camps, where many of them died.
