If the renders are correct, then the iPhone Fold will be in the form of a “book” like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold, but with unique proportions: a wider and “squarer” internal screen, similar to the iPad mini, and an external display as wide as the iPhone 12/13 mini.
The device is expected to measure around 9mm when folded and ~4.5mm when fully unfolded, making it the thinnest iPhone and one of Apple’s slimmest devices ever.
The device is shown in two colors: black and white. Special attention is paid to the folding screen: it was previously claimed that Apple achieved in the iPhone Fold, what other companies could not – an “almost invisible” fold line.
Apple can use special metal plates, liquid metal in the hinge and advanced touch panels to minimize the visible fold line.
If the information is confirmed, the device will be equipped with four cameras: frontal, internal and two main ones. Instead of Face ID, it will have Touch ID in the side button, and instead of a physical tray for the “seven” – eSIM technology.
According to various estimates, the device could cost between 2,000 and 2,400 dollars – probably closer to the upper limit. It is noticeably more expensive than the main competitors in this form factor. The release of the first iPhone with a flexible screen is planned for the fall of 2026.
The foldable iPhone hasn’t even been announced yet, and Samsung is already preparing a copy of it, sources say. In 2026, Apple’s competitor, in addition to the classic Galaxy Z Fold and Flip, will release a folding smartphone with more “tablet” proportions.
We will remind you that earlier this month, Samsung released its first smartphone with three screens – despite the large price tag of $2,400, the new product was quickly sold out. The device will appear on the global market in early 2026.
