The Podolsk Department of the National Police of Kyiv is investigating a criminal proceeding regarding a rotary vertical parking lot for ten cars, which the Department of Transport Infrastructure of the KMDA purchased in 2017 for UAH 3.6 million. The parking lot was written off without being used even once, which caused a public outcry and criticism of the capital authorities.

About this reported Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office. The 15-meter-high parking lot was initially planned to be installed in the yard of the KMDA, then near the Rye Market.

“Later it turned out that none of the subdivisions of the KMDA needed it, and they had not decided where to install it. Over time, it became impossible to operate the purchased parking lot due to damage, unassembled structures rusted, so it was written off,” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.

In the case of proper use, the metal structures of such a parking lot could last for at least 15 years.

In this connection, the former director of the Department of Transport Infrastructure of the KMDA was informed of suspicion of official negligence – according to part 2 of Art. 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
