Ukraine sharply increased pork imports: in 11 months of 2025, imports were almost 13 times more than last year. The most pork was brought from Denmark, Poland and the Netherlands, while the export of Ukrainian pork decreased. This is evidenced by the data of the State Customs Service.

From January to November 2025, Ukraine imported 28,400 tons of pork — 12.9 times more than during the same period in 2024. In monetary terms, this is $70.8 million, which is also almost 13 times higher than last year. During 11 months, pork was mainly imported from Denmark – 57.9%, Poland – 19%, and the Netherlands – 7.9%.

Exports of Ukrainian pork during this period, on the contrary, fell by 21.4% in weight and by 4.3% in monetary equivalent, amounting to 2.2 thousand tons and $6.6 million. Most Ukrainian pork was bought in the UAE, Hong Kong and Bahrain.

Earlier, in August, pork imports to Ukraine reached a record 4.6 thousand tons, which is 48% more than in July. In total, for January-August 2025, Ukraine imported 14.9 thousand tons, which was the highest figure since 2022. “This indicates the growing demand for pork in Ukraine and the need to expand supplies from abroad,” experts note.
