Liverpool striker Alexander Isak has successfully undergone surgery after the injury sustained in the match of the 17th round of the Premier League against Tottenham. It is reported Liverpool’s official website.

The 26-year-old football player suffered an injury in single combat while scoring the opening goal in the match, after which he was forced to leave the field. A medical examination revealed an ankle injury that included a fractured fibula, so surgery was decided upon.

The operation was performed on Monday and was successful. In the near future, Isak will begin the rehabilitation phase at the AXA Training Centre.

The club confirmed that the forward’s recovery will take several months. Specific dates for the player’s return to the field have not yet been determined.
