Shabunin added that the command of his brigade, under the pressure of the SBU, also falsified documents in order to “implant” the SZH on him during the one day that he was in court against him. “At some point, it became obvious that the commanders of the unit were following the instructions of the DBR citizens – to do everything possible so that I would not be at the courts in Kyiv,” – explains the head of the CPC.
According to him, he warned the command in writing that he recorded his illegal cooperation with the Security Intelligence Service and warned that he “will be forced to react.” “In the following weeks, I was supposed to have a number of extremely important trials, to which it is obviously impossible to get to from Kup’yansk-Vuzlovoi. This is how the DBR/OGP, by the hands of obedient commanders of the 43rd OMBr, deprived me of the right to defend myself against illegal persecution,” says the anti-corruption officer.
What preceded: On December 16, Shabunin reported that the DBR and OGP leaked his intimate photos from the phone seized during the search to TG channels.

- On July 11, the SBI notified Shabunin of suspicion of evasion of military service and fraud. After the searches, Shabunin called President Volodymyr Zelenskyi a “tsar” and said that he was taking “confident steps towards corrupt authoritarianism.”
- The investigation blames Shabunin that, having been mobilized in 2022, he allegedly did not show up for duty for a long time and, under the guise of “business trips”, stayed in civilian institutions that do not belong to the defense forces. He is also accused of receiving a monthly allowance, despite his absence from service, which, according to the investigation, caused more than 224,000 hryvnias of damage to the state.
