The Armed Forces confirmed that the Russian military took more than 50 civilians from Sumy Oblast to the Russian Federation

Russian troops crossed the state border of Ukraine near the village of Grabovskoe of the Krasnopil community in the Sumy region, on the border with Russia, and forcibly took more than 50 Ukrainian civilians to the Russian Federation, reported the Main Directorate of Communications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to the report, they are mostly elderly men and women, one of the women is 89 years old.

“Almost all of these persons previously received acts of refusal to evacuate to the territory of Ukraine. At the same time, it should be noted that the refusal to evacuate to the territory of Ukraine does not legalize the actions of the occupying forces in the forced transfer of Ukrainian civilians to the territory of the Russian Federation,” the GUK stressed.

The military noted that “as a result of the rapid offensive of the enemy, the units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine withdrew from several positions in the Grabovskoye area.” According to the Main Directorate of Communications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stabilization operations are ongoing in the border region.

The day before, the head of the village of Grabovskoe, Larisa Kremezna, reported in a comment to “Suspilno” that in the Sumy Oblast, the Russian military took about half a hundred residents of the settlement to the Russian Federation.

After that, Sumy OVA reported that part of the residents who had previously refused to leave were evacuated from the Krasnopil community in Sumy Oblast.
