He said that during his trip to Zaporizhzhia region, he listened to a report by the head of the State Special Transport Service (DSST), Major General Oleksandr Yakovets, regarding the construction of fortifications in Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv and Kyiv regions.
“2,130 platoon strongholds, more than 3,000 km of anti-tank ditch, more than 1,000 km of blocking pyramids, 16,000 km of Yegoza barrier line and 4,300 km of inconspicuous obstacles have already been built by the forces of the DSST,” the government official said.
At the same time, he emphasized that it is necessary to continue to increase the pace of construction of fortifications and improve construction technologies, because this is an important milestone in Ukraine’s defense capability.
Construction of fortifications: the latest newsAs reported, Poland has started construction of fortifications under the “Eastern Shield” program on the border with the Kaliningrad region of Russia.
Currently, three small areas with fortifications are known, which are located near the border with the Russian exclave. Fortifications include anti-tank ditches, “dragon’s teeth” and trenches.
