“It’s terrible.” Joshua was criticized after winning the fight with Jake Paul

Former world champion in super heavyweight (over 90.7 kg) Anthony Joshua (29–4, 26 KOs) successfully returned to the ring and knocked out the American Jake Paul (12–2, 7 KOs) in a match that took place on the night of December 20.

Despite the confident and crushing victory, many experts, journalists, promoters remained dissatisfied with the level of opposition that the British boxer chose.

Journalist Kevin Iole wrote: “Even if Joshua is offered $100 million to fight Tyson Fury, AJ should retire. It was an epically terrible performance.”

Promoter Lou Dibella said: “Anthony Joshua should be ashamed of himself. This was his legacy. Paul is a great businessman, and AJ doesn’t give a damn about boxing.”

Former professional boxer Paul Malignaggi: “Honestly, Anthony probably should have covered the ring better, that’s my only complaint with Joshua. He never had good footwork. But honestly, what do you want from this guy?

Journalist Chris Mannix: “It’s terrible.”

Interestingly, even the referee couldn’t stand it during the fight and turned to Paul: “The fans didn’t pay to watch this nonsense.”
