The judge of one of the district courts in the Kharkiv region on December 18 at around 3:50 p.m., while driving a Hyundai Accent car, allowed a collision with two pedestrians, the Prosecutor General’s Office reports.

“It was established that while approaching an unregulated pedestrian crossing marked by a corresponding road sign, the driver did not reduce her speed and did not give priority to pedestrians who were crossing the road. As a result of the accident, two girls aged 13 and 14 were injured. They were hospitalized in a medical institution with serious injuries. “The victims are currently in the intensive care unit,” the message reads.

Criminal proceedings are being investigated under Part 2 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of road safety rules by a person driving a vehicle, which caused serious bodily injury to the victim

Prosecutors are preparing a notice of suspicion. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
