The Security Service of Ukraine announced on December 18 that at night, long-range drones of the “Alfa” Special Operations Center hit elements of the Russian air defense system at the Belbek military airfield in occupied Crimea.

“As a result of targeted hits by Ukrainian drones, the following were affected:

  • two “Nebo-SVU” long-range radar detection complexes (the price of one is about 60-100 million dollars);
  • Radar 92N6, which is a component of the S-400 “Triumph” anti-aircraft missile complex (estimated price for the domestic market is $30 million, export price is $60 million);
  • anti-aircraft missile complex “Pantsir-S2” (estimated price for the domestic market is 12 million dollars, export price – 19 million dollars);
  • a MiG-31 aircraft with full ammunition (estimated price — 30–50 million dollars, depending on equipment and armament),” the message reads.

The editorial staff of Radio Svoboda cannot independently verify data on the damage.

After the start of a full-scale invasion of Russia, various objects on the territory of the Russian Federation are subjected to airstrikes. Most often, in 2024 and 2025, oil refineries (refineries) became the target of attacks.

Most of the attacks were confirmed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stating that the Defense Forces of Ukraine “systematically implement measures aimed at reducing the combat potential of the Russian occupation forces, as well as at forcing the Russian Federation to stop armed aggression against Ukraine.”

On December 1, the Bloomberg agency, citing the public statements of the countries, reported that in November, the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out at least 14 attacks on Russian oil refineries using drones – this is the maximum number of attacks in a month since the beginning of a full-scale war.
