The Second Eastern District Military Court sentenced journalist Anna Zuyeva in absentia to six years in a general regime colony on charges of justifying terrorism and evading the duties of a “foreign agent”, the press service of the court reported on December 18.

The article on the justification of terrorism Zueva was indicted for publishing on her YouTube and Telegram channels “a video of one of the pro-Ukrainian channels” about the drone attack on the airport in the Irkutsk region in early June 2025, to which she added approving comments.

Charges of evading the duties of a “foreign agent” were brought for publishing material on its channels without the “foreign agent” stamp from April to June 2025.

Anna Zuyeva worked for the state television of the Russian region of Buryatia. After the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, she spoke out against the war and worked for the “Free Buryatia” foundation. In 2023, the journalist left Russia. The Ministry of Justice recognized her as a “foreign agent”, and Rosfinmonitoring added the journalist to the register of “extremists and terrorists”.
