- Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich sold Chelsea Football Club in 2022 under pressure from the British government following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
- Abramovich received a license from the British government to sell “Chelsea” on the condition that the funds will be spent to support the victims of the war in Ukraine. The funds received from the sale of the club were placed in a bank account in Great Britain controlled by Abramovich’s company Fordstam.
