Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation, in cooperation with the UVB of the DKVS, informed about the suspicion of a correctional colony official and a private entrepreneur, who organized an illegal enrichment scheme at the expense of convicts.
According to the investigation, the employee offered one of the prisoners to buy a power cable at his own expense in exchange for assistance in parole.
After that, the official made a fictitious purchase of the cable, allegedly with the funds of the institution’s special fund, in order to appropriate budget money.
It was established that in November 2024, the convict purchased 400 meters of cable with his own funds. Later, the person involved entered false information into the official documentation, creating the appearance of a legal purchase and write-off of the institution’s funds.
The official and the entrepreneur are charged with embezzlement of property based on a prior conspiracy under martial law and official forgery. Currently, the issue of taking preventive measures and removing the official from his position is being resolved.
