What was it? Gassiev knocked out Pulev and became the regular world champion

The WBA Regular title holder is scheduled to fight against undefeated Briton Moses Itauma”, — write: sport.ua

On Friday, December 12, the Duty Free Tennis Stadium” in Dubai (UAE) hosted an evening of boxing from promoters Al Siesta (IB Challenger) and John Wirth (Epic Sports).

The main event of the show was the title fight in super heavyweight (over 90.7 kg) – the regular world champion met in the ring Kubrat Pulev (32–3, 14 KOs) from Bulgaria and a Russian contender Murat Gassiev (32–2, 25 KOs).

Both boxers decided not to force the events – the champion quickly seized control in the center of the ring, pressed the Russian, periodically threw jabs, kept Gassiev at a comfortable distance.

The challenger acted too passively and waited for most of the Bulgarian’s attacks behind a high block. Kubrat rarely attacked, but it was enough to methodically earn points on the referee’s notes.

Sixth round. Gassiev got the champion with a side kick, the Bulgarian was knocked down and could not continue the fight. Kubrat Pulev lost the championship title, but the Russian now has to fight against the undefeated British Itauma.

If Moses defeats the American Jermaine Franklin in January, he will have a chance to fight for the title of regular world champion. Given the level of boxing that Gassiev has shown, the Brit should have no problem.
