According to preliminary reports, no Turkish citizen was injured in the attack.
The Consulate General of Turkey in Odesa is closely monitoring the development of events and provides the necessary support to Turkish citizens, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted.
“In this regard, we once again emphasize the importance of ending the war between Russia and Ukraine as soon as possible and remind of the need to adopt an agreement aimed at preventing escalation in the Black Sea by suspending attacks that threaten the safety of navigation and are aimed at the energy and port infrastructure of the parties,” the Turkish ministry said.
Cenk Denizcilik operator reported that the vessel M/V CENK T, which plies between the Turkish port of Karasu and Odesa, was damaged.
Around 4 p.m., the Air Force was notified of a high-speed Russian target on Chornomorsk.
It will be recalled that the other day representatives of the embassies of Ukraine and Russia were summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey to express their concern over a series of attacks on ships of the Russian “shadow fleet” in the Black Sea.
President Erdoğan called these attacks “an alarming escalation”.
