In the future peace agreement, Ukraine will insist that Ukraine’s attitude to the issues of the Russian language and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UPC MP) conform to the norms of European legislation.
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a conversation with journalists on December 11, reports RBC-Ukraine.
The head of state emphasized that the approach to these points was formed taking into account the fact that Ukraine will be a member of the European Union in the future.
“Therefore, the attitude to such issues will be in accordance with European legislation – to those norms that are basic for the European Union,” the country’s leader said.
Zelensky emphasized that in the “draft framework agreement” (20 points) “everything is written in accordance with international law.” He emphasized that international law is “a fact that everyone must recognize” and it is the only thing that can unite everyone.
During the press conference, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi also told how the United States currently sees the future of the Donetsk region within the framework of possible agreements regarding the peace plan.
In addition, Zelensky announced the Ukrainian position regarding the future of the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
