“Today, around 8:00 a.m., the law enforcement officers received information about the discovery of the body of a 41-year-old man from Kyiv with stab wounds in one of the apartments of a local high-rise building,” the message reads.
Investigators, operatives and a forensic medical expert are working on the spot, and the issue of the legal qualification of the case is being resolved. The police have not yet officially announced the opening of a murder case.
The media report with reference to their own sources that the deceased is the son of the first cosmonaut of independent Ukraine, Leonid Kadenyuk, Dmytro. His body was found by his mother, Vera Kadeniuk.

According to reports, a woman who lived with her son found Kadenyuk Jr.’s body with a knife in his hand near the front door in the morning. A suicide note was not found with him.
Leonid Kadenyuk trained for space flight at NASA on the American reusable spacecraft as a payload specialist. From November 19 to December 5, 1997, he made a space flight on the American space shuttle Columbia. During the flight, he performed biological experiments related to plants.
He became the first and currently the only cosmonaut of independent Ukraine. Kadeniuk died on January 31, 2018 at the age of 67.
