Claims are actively spreading in social networks that Ukraine allegedly exports electricity to Moldova, which causes more blackouts for Ukrainians.

DTEK’s energy experts emphasize that this information is not true – today there is no commercial electricity export.

All available generation of Ukrainian NPPs, HPPs, TPPs and CHPs is used to cover domestic demand, which has increased against the backdrop of cold weather and infrastructure destruction.

Individual network users claim that Ukraine is allegedly “saving” Moldova’s power system with its own electricity.

In fact, in December, after another strike by the Russian Federation on Ukrainian energy facilities, it was Moldova that turned to Romania, not Ukraine, for emergency assistance.

The Moldovan operator Moldelectrica explained that the emergency support was requested due to the overflow of the flow and the tense situation in the regional network related to the attacks on Ukraine.

The main factor behind the stricter shutdown schedules is significant damage to generation and networks due to Russian missile and drone strikes on energy infrastructure.

Ukrenergo and DTEK note that stabilization and emergency shutdowns have to be introduced in many regions due to lost capacity, and schedules sometimes do not work due to the need to urgently balance the system.

Power engineers work around the clock, gradually restoring equipment and trying to reduce the duration of blackouts for the population.

We will remind, DTEK explained the draining of fuel oil from the TPP into the reservoir in Vinnytsia.

Also, the last mine of DTEK Bilozerska was closed due to shelling and lack of light.
