Details: According to him, the negotiations include three separate documents. In particular, the first of these documents is a framework document. It’s a 20-point plan that was negotiated between European leaders, Stubb explained.
The second document, according to Stubb, concerns security guarantees for Ukraine and is being discussed between the administration of US President Donald Trump, Ukrainian representatives and European security structures.
The third document focuses on the reconstruction of Ukraine after the war, he added.
According to Stubb, the previous version of the framework agreement consisted of 28 points. Part of the proposals related to European security was “absolutely unacceptable” for Finland. However, the negotiations have now reached a stage where the terms of the agreement look more acceptable.
At the same time, the former Secretary General of NATO and now the Minister of Finance of Norway, Jens Stoltenberg, who was also at the event, said that the way to peace is to change the Kremlin’s calculations. In his opinion, only an excessively high price can force the head of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, to make concessions.
