Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso has responded to rumors that he could be sacked by the Madrid club ahead of their Champions League clash with Manchester City.

After the defeat of the “creamy” from Celta (0:2) in La Liga, there was information that Alonso could allegedly be dismissed if City lost.

“When you coach Real Madrid, you have to be ready for everything. I’m focused on the football field. That’s what I can control – tomorrow’s game,” Alonso said on press conference.

When asked if it is difficult to coach a club like Real, he answered: “It’s not about changing, it’s about adapting. I know Real very well. You have to adapt and learn. There are good days, there are not so good days. But we progress with every match. We have to accept the situation and turn it to our advantage.”

The match between Real Madrid and Manchester City will take place on December 10 in Madrid.
