In Ukraine, as of now, three rounds of hourly power outage schedules have been implemented throughout the territory.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliya Svyridenko reported on the situation with outages in her Telegram channel.
These are planned restrictions that are used to stabilize the power system and prevent large-scale accidents.
Such steps have become a forced tool for balancing electricity consumption and production.
She emphasized that the government closely monitors the regime of electricity consumption and coordinates actions with energy companies.
According to the prime minister, the main task of the authorities is to reduce discomfort for citizens and support the stable operation of critical infrastructure.
Svyridenko emphasized that the government is working to reduce the duration of shutdowns for the population. According to her, a number of decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers aimed at changing approaches to electricity distribution are currently being prepared.
The main emphasis is planned on ensuring that household consumers receive electricity more predictably and with fewer interruptions.
“We are working on reducing their duration. We are preparing a series of Government decisions to redistribute consumption and direct electricity to household consumers,” the Prime Minister said.
She added that one of the key areas will be the optimization of the load during peak hours. For this, various mechanisms of motivating business and large consumers to change work modes are being considered.
As a reminder, on December 9, restrictions on electricity consumption will be applied in all regions of Ukraine due to the consequences of the previous massive missile and drone attacks by the Russian Federation on energy facilities.
Also, power outages can last up to four times a day.
