A blogger from Chernivtsi, who announced the coordinates of a unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the stream and posted the video publicly despite warnings from the military, has been sentenced to 5 years in prison.
Prosecutors of the General Prosecutor’s Office and the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor’s Office proved the validity of the sentence in courts of all instances.
The investigation established that the woman regularly filmed provocative videos near the positions of the Armed Forces. During the stream in the summer of 2023, she voiced the coordinates of the Ukrainian unit, commenting on the terrain, which made it possible to determine the exact location of the military. The video was posted on her YouTube and TikTok channels unedited, exposing sensitive information to an unlimited number of people.
Courts of first and appellate instances found her guilty of unauthorized dissemination of data on the movement or location of units of the Armed Forces under martial law. The Supreme Court confirmed the sentence, recognizing the punishment in the form of 5 years of imprisonment as fair and proportionate to the crime committed. The resolution has entered into legal force and is not subject to appeal.
It will be recalled that the SBU declared suspicion against five Russian generals who directed the missile attack on Lviv.
The SBU also reported suspicion of four Russian military personnel for shelling Sumy.
