The SAP does not mention the names of the members of parliament, but according to the Ukrainian media, it is about Anna Skorokhod and her accomplice.
So far, the parties involved in the case have not publicly commented on the court’s decision.
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office announced on the morning of December 5 that “together with the Security Service of Ukraine, they exposed a criminal group headed by a People’s Deputy of Ukraine.”
“Primary investigative actions are ongoing. The details will come later,” the anti-corruption authorities said in a short message.
Subsequently, People’s Deputy from the “For the Future” party, Anna Skorokhod, confirmed that on December 5, after searching her apartment, law enforcement officers handed her a suspect in a bribery case. However, according to Skorokhod, they “couldn’t substantiate it with anything”, and she was not arrested.
As the deputy stated, the money seized during the searches was not hers. In addition, she accused NABU of “manipulation” and publication of “fake photos”.
“NABU published photos from the “place of the search”, which show money, some kind of kitchen and a bedroom. I officially declare: this is a photo from someone else’s apartment,” Skorokhod wrote on social networks at night.
The deputy called the recordings of her conversations presented by the investigation “a classic montage and clippings from the context.” “The full version looks completely different, and I will make additional comments on this. I am not under arrest. I was handed a suspicion, but they could not support it with anything. I am ready to cooperate because I have nothing to hide. Moreover, I will demand a full investigation of this provocation,” the deputy wrote. She stated that it was political pressure to disrupt her trip to the US for international meetings.
The National Anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine reported that it had announced suspicions against the People’s Deputy.
“NABU and SAP, together with the Security Service of Ukraine, exposed a criminal group headed by a People’s Deputy of Ukraine. According to the investigation, its participants offered a business representative for $250,000 to organize the imposition of sanctions by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on a competitor’s company,” the report said.
In 2019, Anna Skorokhod was a member of the ruling Servant of the People faction, but was expelled from the faction due to voting contrary to the position of the Servant of the People.
