The Cabinet of Ministers expects that the system of new contracts will be operational in the first quarter of 2026.
Ukraine is implementing new contracts for military personnel / photo ua.depositphotos.comThe Cabinet of Ministers has approved and is sending to the Verkhovna Rada a draft law introducing new contracts for military personnel, in particular, it guarantees clear terms of service and increased payments. This was reported by the Minister of Defense Denys Shmyhal.
According to him, the contract is offered for soldiers, sergeants and officers of all Security and Defense Forces: ZSU, NSU, DPSU and others.
“The term of the contracts is from one to five years. Postponement from mobilization for 12 months after the end of the contract, provided it is concluded for 2-5 years. Annual financial bonuses and additional monthly remuneration for participation in combat operations,” the minister noted.
As Shmyhal noted, citizens who are in reserve, as well as reservists and mobilized military personnel, will be able to conclude new contracts.
He added that the soldiers who are already serving under the contract will be able to renegotiate it on new terms.
“We are waiting for the rapid adoption of the draft law by the people’s deputies. We expect that the system of new contracts will be operational in the first quarter of 2026,” the minister emphasized.
Military contracts in UkraineAs UNIAN reported, at the beginning of November, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that for the future, after the end of the war, different formats of contracts are being considered, so that the currently mobilized military could switch to contract service.
He noted that contracts for such periods as one year, two, three, four, five are being considered.
As Zelensky emphasized, he would not like to reduce the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine after the end of the war or after the introduction of a ceasefire regime.
