The Frankiv District Court of Lviv chose a preventive measure for a 30-year-old man who is suspected of murdering a 37-year-old military officer of the TCC and ATO veteran Yury Bondarenko.

The court decided to take the suspect into custody without the right to bail for a period of 60 days – until January 30, 2026.
The prosecutor’s office filed a motion for detention without alternative. Instead, the suspect’s lawyer asked the court to choose a preventive measure in the form of 24-hour house arrest or minimum bail. She noted that the man had no previous convictions, lives in a rented apartment, has an education, although he works unofficially. Also, a certificate about the serious health condition of his grandmother, whom he supports financially, was attached to the case file.
Before the start of the meeting, the 30-year-old man told reporters that on the day of the incident he had provided all documents to the TCC employees and was not wanted.
“I say, check the base, I didn’t want to get into the Reserve.” Called a lawyer, waited for a lawyer. The bus arrived, the door opened and I was immediately hit in the face. I was suffocated with spray can. The next thing I remember is four or three uniformed workers beating me. The police do nothing. The next thing I remember is I open the door to my house and then I try to wash off the tear gas. That’s all I remember from that evening,” said the suspect.
He confirmed that the knife found at the crime scene belonged to him. When asked whether it was he who struck the military TCC, he answered.
“Apparently, it is,” he added.
The suspect also stated that he did not have a suspension from service and, according to his information, was not wanted.
“And these people who stopped me first checked me, probably three weeks ago – they knew me, and I knew them,” he said.
On December 3, an incident occurred in Lviv, during which a man attacked employees of the Territorial Center for Procurement and Social Support (TCC). One of the servicemen was stabbed and died in hospital the next day.
