Drones attacked the center of Grozny

The Russian region of Chechnya was attacked by drones on December 5. The complex of high-rise buildings “Terrible City”, where, among other things, the offices of state structures are located, came under attack. Several floors of one of the towers were damaged, a fire broke out. There is no information about victims or victims.

This is the second attack on the republic in a week. The Grozny City Hall and the head of the region, Ramzan Kadyrov, did not comment on the strikes at the time of publication of the news.

According to the source of Radio Liberty Kavkaz.Realii project, after the attack on “Grozny City” there were at least four more explosions in the capital of the republic. These data confirm the NIYSO movement in Chechnya. They claim that local schools have canceled classes. In the morning, the Grozny airport stopped working again.

One of the first to publish information about the attack in Grozny was the opposition movement NIYSO. Activists showed photos and videos of the consequences. They show that at least five floors of one of the high-rises are seriously damaged. In addition to residential apartments, hotels, restaurants and shopping areas, the complex houses the offices of the Security Council of Chechnya, the Commissioner for Human Rights, the Accounting Chamber, and the Election Commission, Astra draws attention. The NIYSO adds that it also houses the offices of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Tourism, the Department of Relations with Religious and Public Organizations, the United Russia branch and the design studio of Kadyrov’s “personal architect”.

The previous time, drones struck Chechnya on the night of December 2. Then, according to various sources, an empty police station building in Gudermes and an FSB building in Achkhoi Martan were damaged. It was reported about two injured employees of the special service, but there is no official confirmation. Another attack took place on November 27 – the target was a military town in the Baisanguriv district of Grozny. At the same time, a recording of an attack in the village of Borzoi was sent to the editorial office of Kavkaz.Realii.
