During 2025, 55 types of dangerous products were discovered in Ukraine, of which 28 are children’s toys. In total, specialists of the State Production and Consumer Service found more than 24,000 units of toys that did not meet safety requirements in order to prevent the circulation of dangerous goods.
This is reported by the State Production and Consumer Service.
As a result of laboratory studies, the risks for children were confirmed: allergic reactions, poisoning and excess content of dangerous chemicals.
Andriy Kreitor, deputy head of the State Production and Consumer Service, said that the main task of the service is to “timely identify and remove from circulation products that may pose a risk to children’s health.”
To avoid buying a dangerous toy, the State Production and Consumer Service recommends paying attention to:
-
labeling in Ukrainian, data of the importer/manufacturer and the presence of a sign of compliance with technical regulations;
-
reliable fastening of parts and the absence of sharp elements and a sharp chemical smell;
-
avoiding purchases on spontaneous markets or from sellers who do not have documents;
-
the absence of small parts in toys that are dangerous for small children;
-
securing the protection of the battery compartment with a screw;
-
compliance of the noise level with the established standards;
-
inspection of the toy on the “Attention” portal, which collects data on dangerous and withdrawn goods.
Meanwhile, in a number of European countries, cereal products, including breakfast cereals, bread, pasta and flour, have recorded significant levels of trifluoroacetic acid (TFA), a persistent toxic substance that belongs to the group of so-called “eternal chemicals”.
A new study shocked: in wines produced in Europe over the past few years, have discovered trifluoroacetic acid (TFA), a byproduct of PFAS, chemicals that were designed to withstand the most extreme conditions. These substances remain in the ecosystem and enter food.
