The head coach of Girona, Michel, commented on his team’s defeat in the Spanish Cup match against Ourense (1:2), which plays in the third division of the country.

“I’m not angry about the match. The team fought, and Ourense was better in the first 15-20 minutes of the second half – that’s all. You can be more or less accurate, but the team didn’t allow themselves to be beaten. The players gave 100% – and that’s important for me.

Everything is very even in this tournament. The team fought well. The first episode of the match is the interception they made. We tried to play, they took the ball, a corner – and a goal. But after that, I think the first half was behind us. Then in the second half we had a really bad 15 minutes because we started playing backwards and they went forward. Instead of playing in their half, we played in ours, and with the state of the pitch, we couldn’t afford too many back passes and couldn’t get out from under their pressure.

Arnau and Brian were supposed to be with us, but they couldn’t go. We have a very difficult situation – there are few options, because there were not many players on the bench to change the course of the game,” Mundo Deportivo quoted Michela as saying.
