The police took up the case, but according to the father of one of the victims, the law enforcement officers did not want to immediately accept the statement. The police accepted the statement only the next day.

“In connection with the information that appeared in the mass media, about the alleged refusal of the police to accept the statement, the chief ordered to start an official investigation,” Yakub Baginskyi, the spokesman of the police in Slupsk, told the newspaper.

“The state should think about what to do so that such things do not happen again. This is unacceptable. There can be no such behavior regarding nationality. The Polish authorities, Polish society must react,” he added.

Commenting on the behavior of the Polish teacher and the subsequent fight in front of the school, the Ukrainian consul noted that “if the records are confirmed, then conclusions must be drawn.”

Police in Slupsk are investigating the fight. The teacher who allegedly expressed xenophobic views is on leave. The Department of Education has launched an investigation into him.

The details of the incident were previously published by the “UP. Life” editorial office. In particular, it was said that the teacher insulted Ukrainian students, called them “scumbags” and threatened that they would not pass the exams. His words were recorded on video. “When you take the exam next time, you will definitely fail it. Because I will prove to you who a Pole is,” said the teacher, in particular.

During the lessons, one of the Polish students turned on the sounds of bombs and rockets, mocking the Ukrainians, but the teacher did not react. At the same time, the student said to the Ukrainians: “It’s time to hide.” In addition, offensive messages were sent to Ukrainians.

The teacher’s anti-Ukrainian remarks incited some of the Polish students. After classes, two Ukrainian teenagers were brutally beaten by high school students, shouting national insults. According to reports, one of the attackers first spat in the face of a 16-year-old Ukrainian, saying: “To the front, Ukrainian bitch.” And then he started punching in the face.

One of the victims received a concussion, the other suffered a broken collarbone.

  • In September, a cross was cut from a Ukrainian church in Poland, after which one suspect was detained.
  • In October, during Shakhtar’s match against Legia Warsaw in Krakow, Polish fans unfurled a banner with the inscription “We remember Volyn”; the ambassador called it a provocation.
