In the village of Velikiy Burluk, Kharkiv Region, the 18th-century house, where the Ukrainian philosopher and poet Hryhoriy Skovoroda lived in the 1880s, was transferred to communal ownership by court decision.

This is reported by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the prosecutor’s office, the area of the local historical monument is 1,587 square meters. m, and its estimated value is more than UAH 39 million. Prior to this, the facility did not have a balance-keeper and was officially registered as ownerless real estate.

“The territorial community has still not formalized the ownership right to the monument, due to which the building remained unprotected and gradually collapsed. Now, registration of the ownership right will allow not only to preserve the historical object, but also to effectively manage it,” the prosecutor’s office said.

We will remind that in the village of Babai in the Vysochansk community, the manor house where Hryhoriy Skovoroda lived 250 years ago is also being destroyed. Before the full-scale war, it was planned to carry out anti-emergency works there, but the funds were not used.

In 2020, the residents of Babaiv created the “Skovoroda Krok” initiative group, which is engaged in saving the historical monument, organizes toloks and works on creating a tourist route.

Earlier, the prosecutor’s office of the Kyiv region returned 59 hydrotechnical structures of fish ponds with a total area of more than 25,000 square meters, located on the Bobrytsia River in the Buchanskyi and Fastivskyi districts, to the state property. The value of this property is estimated at millions of hryvnias.

Earlier, the appellate court overturned the illegal decision of the Buchansk District Council, and the 3,000-hectare Belichany Forest was returned to the Kyiv community.

Also, after almost five years of court proceedings, the complex of historical buildings from 1830-1910, located in the historical part of Podil, under Zamkova Hill, returned to the ownership of the Kyiv community.
