For these purposes, the three countries will allocate a total of $500 million, of which, as the minister emphasized, $100 million is Poland’s contribution.
“One million dollars for every centimeter of Polish track blown up by Russian saboteurs,” commented Sikorsky, referring to the recent sabotage of railroad tracks.
These funds will be used for the purchase of Patriot missiles, which are supposed to protect Ukrainian cities and power plants.
He also explained that these are not additional funds, but money that the Polish government initially wanted to allocate in accordance with EU commitments to the European Peace Fund, but it is now blocked by Hungary.
“So that this money was not wasted, but worked to contain Putin, it was redirected to American weapons for Ukraine,” explained Sikorsky.
We will remind, the meeting of NATO ministers in Brussels brought agreements on the supply of weapons under the PURL program for approximately one billion dollars.
Norway announced that gives another half a billion for American weapons for the Armed Forces.
