“Legend supports changes to Ali’s law”, — write: sport.ua
“Muhammad Ali has always been my hero, both in and out of the ring. Upholding these changes honors the spirit of the original Ali Act by closing loopholes that have allowed some promoters to regain monopoly control over fighters’ careers. This new legislation restores the balance by allowing boxers to choose their own path while maintaining the integrity of the sport. The law doesn’t change the options for those who feel comfortable with the current system, it just adds options for fighters who want to choose a different path that better suits their career goals.
The proposed reforms provide significant benefits for soldiers. Setting a minimum amount per round ensures that every athlete who steps into the ring is fairly compensated for the risks they take on their bodies and minds. Requiring mandatory health insurance is equally important – no fighter should ever have to choose between paying medical bills and continuing their career. I have seen too many of my colleagues face this impossible decision,” Tyson’s letter reads.
