On the first day of operation of the “3000 km in Ukraine” program, citizens issued more than 4000 tickets for trips to or from the frontline regions.
This was announced by the Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba.
“From today, Ukrzaliznytsia launched the possibility to issue 3,000 km of trips. The railway offers to use them in off-peak periods, when there are free seats,” he said.
At the initial stage, the program is focused on the routes of the frontline communities.
“To date, more than 100,000 users have already activated the offer in the application. The most popular destinations are Kharkiv region and Zaporizhzhia. Passengers have booked 2,500,000 free kilometers,” the minister said.
The flights for the pilot phase were selected based on train occupancy analysis. In the future, during the off-peak season, Ukrzaliznytsia plans to offer about 250,000 seats per month.
“This will stimulate the trips of those passengers for whom affordable prices are a key factor, as well as partially relieve peak demand,” Kuleba wrote in Telegram.
Trains will run hourly between Kyiv and Lviv – Ukrzaliznytsia.
We will remind that “Ukrzaliznytsia” was damaged during the night attack on Kyiv.
Also, “Ukrzaliznytsia” is launching Kyiv-Bucharest train stops in Moldova.
