“This week Veronika competes in the WTA 125 tournament in Angers”, — write: sport.ua
“Victory over Charaeva? I felt pretty good during the match. In principle, what I planned to do on the court, I succeeded. Even if the score may seem quite simple, it was quite difficult, the games were very difficult, many times the score was “tied”. That is, it was not easy.
Do I perform a lot at indura? Yes, I quite enjoy playing hard in the hall. I feel good. But nothing much has changed since October. It’s just that this year there were quite a lot of injuries that did not allow to show a good result and play many matches in a row. That is, I missed the game. And I’m just very pleased that I can perform again. And physically, I feel more ready now for these tournaments.
A match with Ružych? I never played with her. It will be an interesting match, I think. She is a fairly balanced tennis player. The plan for the match is to try to play my tennis and try to the end.
Plans for the end of the year? I still don’t know if this will be my last tournament, I will try to sign up for Limoges. If I get there, I will play there. Of course, I want to play there too. I will sign up. And if not, then this [Анже] will be the last tournament.
Qualifying for the Australian Open? Not thinking about it yet. It’s all realistic, of course, if I do well in this tournament or if I play two tournaments and do well in them. It’s all real, but I’m not thinking about it yet.”
Podrez started in Angers from qualification, where Amandine Monneau passed in the only qualifying match. In the first round of the main draw, Veronika defeated Alina Charaeva. In the round of 16, the young Ukrainian will compete with the second-seeded Antonia Ruzhych – the match will start on December 3 at approximately 9:00 p.m.
