“The Deputy Minister of Energy notes that there is a certain difference in the amount of electricity restrictions in the regions”, — write: www.radiosvoboda.org
“The situation in the energy system as a result of shelling is quite difficult. The main complication is the ability to transmit available electricity. Today, we have nine NPP units in operation, there is 2.1 GW of capacity for import, and emergency assistance is additionally involved to balance consumption. But the main problem is the availability of electricity transmission between the central and eastern power systems,” he said during the press conference.
According to him, there is a certain difference in the amount of electricity restrictions in the regions: in the west of the country during peak hours, up to two rounds of blackouts are applied, in the south and center – up to three, and in the north and east – three.
“Thus, we see that the impact of these shellings is both regional in nature, and we see that the last massive shelling was concentrated on objects on which the operation of the central power system depends,” he said.
Since the beginning of autumn, the Russian military has intensified its attacks on the Ukrainian energy and gas infrastructure, which supplies people with gas during the heating season. In Ukraine, due to damage to energy facilities as a result of Russian shelling, hourly blackout schedules and capacity limitation schedules are used for industrial consumers and businesses.
